Société Générale Charity of the Year – Stonewall Equality
Ian Fisher, Chief Country Officer from Société Générale presented the award to the Stonewall team lead by Catherine Bosworth.
Stonewall works tirelessly towards a vision of equality where lesbians, gay men and bisexual people (LGB) can be open, honest and safe at home, at school, at work and in the community and are assured of equal rights. Over the past 22 years, they have become Britain’s foremost equality charity. Their work is referenced and cited worldwide, and their notable achievements and ground-breaking results have enabled Britain to become a global leader in the advancement of human rights for LGB people.
Vital programmes, campaigns and projects will ensure that all of Britain’s 3.6 million LGB people can live safe and empowered lives free from homophobia and violence. To secure this, their three principal aims are to:
• Equip communities to reduce homophobia and homophobic hate crime
• Guarantee a safe and inclusive learning environment in Britain’s schools and
• Enable employers to create a positive working environment for all staff
